Let's face the facts here and be honest with ourselves. We spend most of our time inside our cars travelling to and from work on long commutes or shuffling our kids from school to the soccer field. We often get caught in making sure no one scratches the exterior of our cars and forget about the most important thing, the interior. Most vehicles come with inadequate car audio systems that sound like someone is screaming into a metal garbage can. Don't keep torturing your ears with sub-par sound quality, let's upgrade to an aftermarket car audio system. Nervous? Don't be, and here's why:
Your
car stereo should be the first thing changed. Aftermarket radios output more power to your speakers which translates into better sound quality and higher volume levels. In today's world however, it's not just AM/FM radios and CDs, most aftermarket radios support XM and Sirius Satellite Radio, HD Radio, Bluetooth hands free calling and GPS. Throw in a nice 7" touch screen radio with built-in iPod controls and you could spend hours in your car...oh wait, you WILL spend hours in your car. What if you purchased the advanced sound system from your dealership? Even advanced stock sound systems lack the quality of aftermarket systems. Switching out your radio is a great place to start, but don't think we can't go further.
Your vehicles stock speakers are probably made with paper cones and sheet metal thin magnets. This simply is not conducive to great sound quality that would make your commute all the more worth it. Swapping out your stock speakers with higher quality aftermarket speakers will open up your ears to frequencies you never knew existed in your music. You will easily start hearing the little musical nuances that were never there before in your music. Yes, the lead singer did say that during the guitar solo, you just couldn't hear it before.
So you replaced the radio and speakers and boy does your system sound pretty darn good! There is one last thing that would seal the deal, and that would be an amp and subwoofer. A subwoofer will add the low end bass drum and bass guitar notes that you couldn't feel through generic speakers. These lower notes help make you feel like you're at the concert by adding depth and warmth to your music. The amplifier is used to power the subwoofer and give that punch or boom to your music.
Once you throw out that stock sound system, you will notice that your hour commute just got shorter. In fact, it may even seem too short. The kids finished with soccer practice too soon, and it's too early to walk in the store to pick up groceries. Great sound doesn't have to cost thousands of dollars and your car shouldn't just be a tool to drive from A to B. Music for the soul is best herd through quality
car speakers.
